Laser Ablation
Benefits of Laser Ablation
Our laser ablation offers numerous advantages to both you and your pet:
Laser ablation is the process of removing unwanted tissue or mass by irradiating it with a laser beam.
The unwanted tissue is gently vaporized or ablated.
The process is continued until a depth is reached that has removed the unwanted tissue or mass.
Laser surgery produces less pain, less bleeding, less swelling, less infection, and discomfort after traditional surgery.
There are typically no sutures involved with laser surgery.
Laser surgery not only cauterizes the tissue, but it also destroys infection and “caps” nerve endings.
Typical laser ablation procedures include interdigital cysts, sebaceous hyperplasia/adenomas, and ear masses.
These procedures are performed under general anesthesia or heavy sedation.
