Our Patients

Making animals happy and healthy is the reason we got into this business, and no one is more important to us than our furry patients. Read some heartwarming success stories and testimonials from our clients on this page, or check out our slideshow to meet some of the pets we’ve gotten to know!

Soldier

Soldier is a very special patient of ours! He has been coming to see Dr. Williamson for two to three years now. We want to feature him as our Pet of the Month for June 2009 because on June 13 he is going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Staunton, Virginia! We are thrilled for Soldier, Dot’s Seeing-Eye Dog!

CONGRATULATIONS!

When Dot first brought Soldier to see Dr. Williamson, he was drooling constantly and excessively. He would shake his head (because of horrible yeast infections in his ears) and drool would fly everywhere, onto everything in sight, even onto ceilings! The drooling and head shaking were manifestations of his allergies. It was so bad that Dot couldn’t go anywhere, because store and business owners would ask them to leave, due to the mess Soldier made.

Here’s a testimonial written by Dot about her very special friend…

“Soldier and I have been together for ten years; he is my fifth guide dog. He went to school at Pilot Dogs, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio. When we met, he bonded to me almost immediately! I was playing with him in the room where I met him, and his trainer saw us and asked, ‘What’s that about? I couldn’t get him to play! How did you do that?’ Well, I just got him to do it. Soldier and I have gotten along well through the years.

“Dr. Williamson REALLY helped him! Soldier still slobbers a little bit, but it’s a HUGE improvement! After she put him on medication it really helped a lot. I didn’t like taking him out much because he would shake his head so much and spray mess everywhere. I didn’t want to put him down just because he had a problem. I thought he ought to get help from some place… once I started going to Dr. Williamson the medication she gave him helped him greatly! It was like A MIRACLE!!

“Now Soldier is going to be recognized in a special ceremony, and will be the first guide dog to go into the Hall of Fame at Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind!”
