Our Patients
Making animals happy and healthy is the reason we got into this business, and no one is more important to us than our furry patients. Read some heartwarming success stories and testimonials from our clients on this page, or check out our slideshow to meet some of the pets we’ve gotten to know!
Jee Jee
“Jee Jee is 5 years old. We got her from Arkansas a week after our first Llewellin setter, Jeter, nickname Jee Jee, lost her 6 month battle with lymphoma. Jee Jee and Jeter had the same father, and their grandfather was Hank, of the OLN ‘Hunting With Hank’ bird dog show.
“Unlike Jeter, who was a natural hunting dog, Jee Jee has always been a teddy puppy. She won’t greet you without grabbing one of her many stuffed toys, or a shoe if none are available. She still acts like a playful puppy and loves to be petted or held, which Jeter never did. Jee Jee had a TPO hip operation when she was only 5 months old. I believe she is still a baby because of the month of recuperation she endured at this early age.
“After she turned one-year-old, Jee Jee began to bite and scratch all the time, losing most of her fur and significant weight too. She had so little fur we had to buy and use a coat for her during the winter. Our local vet checked Jee Jee and said we needed to travel to a dermatologist. We drove 160 miles to see Dr. Williamson. She did an allergy skin test on Jee Jee, then prepared serum for shots. Jee Jee also took steroids, went on a more restrictive diet and had baths at least once a weekly with a special shampoo. All of these measures improved Jee Jee’s condition, but only to a point.
“A year ago her symptoms got worse. We took Jee Jee back to Dr. Williamson, who had been monitoring her all along. We agreed to try a different medication. Over the months, Jee Jee transformed into a woolly dog and developed markings we never knew were there. Her feet became so furry we had to get her professionally trimmed 2 weeks ago.
“My ‘Pig Puppy’ has become my ‘Fuzzy Monkey’ (she loves bananas), all thanks to Dr. Williamson’s heartfelt dedication to her chosen field.”
